Q. How do I apply for a job at Canada Post? A. Applying for a job with Canada Post is easy. Just follows these steps:
Visit us at www.canadapost.ca/careers and click on "Current Opportunities" link on the Careers home page. You will be directed to a page where you are asked to select the geographic location you would like to search for jobs in (e.g. Ontario).
Click on the relevant location, and begin searching for jobs by City, Keyword, Job ID or Category.
Once you have found a job that you are interested in applying for, click on the "Apply Now" button, answer the job specific screening questions, and click on the "Apply for this Job" button at the bottom of the page.
You will then be asked to create a Career Profile. (NOTE: This step is required in order to apply for jobs at Canada Post.) By creating a profile, your profile and CV will be saved in our secure database, which is regularly searched by Canada Post recruiters. You will also save having to fill out an application form each time you want to apply for a new job.
Once your Career Profile is created, simply follow the instructions to submit your resume and cover letter for the position you are interested in.
You can also create a Career Alert, that will inform you whenever a new job that matches your criteria is posted.

Q. How can I submit my application if I do not have access to the Internet? A. Despite the prevalence of home computers, we recognize that not everyone has one. People without home PCs can still apply on-line from the following locations:
Friends, relatives or neighbours
Canada/Student employment centres
Campus career centres
Service Canada centres (call 1-800-622-6232 for locations)
Q. What if I have a disability that prevents me to apply on-line? A. Person with a disability preventing them from applying on-line can contact our help-line at 1-877-427-7717 to get assistance with their on-line application process. Note however, that this is not a data entry service. Person with a disability must be on-line enabled through a personal assistant "software, browser".
Q. How long do jobs stayposted on the site? A. Some vacancies are only open for one to two weeks, while others stay open until the position is filled. It is a good idea to visit the site often to make the most of your opportunities. While this rarely occurs, Canada Post reserves the right to remove job postings prior to the deadline.
Q. What happens after I apply for a job? A. The Human Resources team thanks all applicants for their interest in Canada Post. Applicants will receive an acknowledgement of receipt for an online application as soon as they:
create a profile; and
apply for a job by completing the pre-screening questions and clicking on the submit button. Due to the high volume of resumes/applications on file, only those who are being considered for a specific position will be contacted after the acknowledgement of receipt is sent out. If you are not successful, we'll keep your details in our database and contact you if a future position matches your skills.
Q. How long does Canada Post keep online resumes/profiles before the applicant must re-apply? A. There is no time limit on retaining resumes submitted electronically. However, to ensure the information is current, applicants must regularly update their Career Profile.
Q. How will I be contacted for an interview? A. If you are being considered for an interview, you will typically receive either a telephone call or an email from the Human Resources representative or the hiring manager.
Q. How many interviews or assessments will I have to attend? A. Candidates will usually be going through a series of assessments or interviewed at least twice before a hiring decision is made. The interview process will help you learn more about our organization, and answer your questions about the job opportunity. We know that interviews or assessments can make you feel anxious, but at Canada Post we want you to succeed, so we will try to make your experience as comfortable and as rewarding as possible.

Q. Why is salary information not listed on job postings? A. For unionized positions, salary information is available even if it is not found on our on-line job postings. Please contact the person listed on this posting for additional information. For non-unionized positions, salary information is not listed on our job postings. Canada Post recognizes that potential candidates may bring differing levels of skills and experience to our open postings.

Q. What if I forgot my password? A. Your password is stored in the e-recruitment system in an encrypted format, so even CGI's does not know your password. However, we can reset your password if you phone them. When you contact the CGI helpdesk you will be asked security questions to confirm it is your account.
Q. I have a received an email from Canada Post asking me to provide personal records such as Social Insurance Number (SIN), banking information etc... Should I need to reply? A. No, Canada Post does not send e-mails:
asking the customer to provide, confirm personal records.
sent from a third party address or link to a third party site.
containing no information about why a customer is receiving e-mail.
requiring an urgent response.
