Douglas Jones

Douglas Jones is SVP, Delivery.

Doug Jones was appointed as Senior Vice-President, Operations in November 2009, and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our national postal network. The operations team at Canada Post represents $3.9 billion in annual costs and consists of 53,000 employees engaged in all aspects of the induction, processing, transport and delivery of mail, parcels and direct marketing items.

Doug served as Canada Post’s Vice-President, Field Operations for the previous two years. Prior to joining Canada Post in 2007, Doug was based in Virginia as Vice-President, Manufacturing & Operations for Lafarge North America, a division of the Lafarge Group, a world leader in building materials. He began his 20-year career at Lafarge in sales, moving into positions of progressively greater responsibility as Sales & Quality Manager, General Manager and Vice-President & General Manager in both Eastern and Western Canada. While at Lafarge, Doug was seconded in 1999 to Innocon Inc., a Toronto-based joint venture of two multi-national firms, in the position of President for a three-year period.

Doug manages based on five guiding principles: Safety First, Customer Service, People, Cost Control and Asset Optimization.

Doug has a Master's of Business Administration from Niagara University in New York and a Bachelor's degree in Science from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. He lives in Ottawa with his wife Christine and two sons.
