Canada Post confirms mail continues to be delivered

Ottawa - Canada Post today confirmed that the labour disruption that began November 17 by the Union of Postal Communications Employees (UPCE) continues to have minimal impact on Canada Post's customers. Over 250 million pieces of mail have been delivered since the strike began.

Although there have been some transportation delays, Canada Post is taking any and all necessary action to meet its commitment to Canadians that mail will be delivered throughout this disruption. Legal measures - including picket line protocols and, where necessary, court-ordered injunctions - have been essential and effective. Delays experienced last week in some centres have been largely resolved, and where necessary Canada Post has extended hours to deal with any backlog that resulted in delays.
