How does Canada Post recognize third-party validation and correction software?
The Software Evaluation and Recognition Program (SERP) is a Canada Post testing program that evaluates the ability of both commercial and internally-developed software packages to validate and correct mailing lists according to Canada Post requirements.
If you use Incentive Lettermail™, Addressed Admail™, or Publications Mail™, your mailing lists must meet the requirements of our Address Accuracy Program. Address validation and correction software evaluated and recognized by Canada Post can help you meet those requirements.
To get started, you can:
- Purchase software from a Canada Post-recognized software vendor.
- Employ a mail service provider that uses Canada Post-recognized software.
- Develop in-house software and have it evaluated for SERP recognition.
Customers interested in having their software recognized can contact:

Note: SERP recognition indicates that Canada Post has evaluated the software and found it to meet the criteria referred to above. The program does not evaluate any subjective criteria such as speed of operation, user friendliness or customer support.
