Mail/Parcel Pick-up and Delivery unavailable on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in observance of Remembrance Day

To: All Canada Post Commercial Customers

Please note that all Canada Post mail processing facilities will be closed to observe the Remembrance Day holiday on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.

As a result, scheduled or on-demand pick-ups will not be performed on Wednesday, November 11, but will resume on Thursday, November 12, 2009. As no mail or parcels will be processed on Remembrance Day, special pick-ups are being arranged through our Commercial Service Network (CSN) only in exceptional cases of severe space limitations at customer facilities.

EXCEPTIONS

  • Customers in the Greater Toronto Area who are currently receiving pick-up services from our contractor Maritime-Ontario
  • Customers who have made prior arrangements through Canada Post’s Commercial Service Network (see number below) due to extreme space limitations
  • Canada Post will open its Receipt Verification Units at the following mail processing facilities:
    • Toronto Bulk Mail Facility (BMF), 4567 Dixie Road, Mississauga, Ontario; Open from 07:00 – 23:00
    • Toronto South Central, 969 Eastern Avenue, Toronto, Ontario; Open from 10:00 – 18:00
    • Montreal Leo-Blanchette, 555 McArthur, St-Laurent, Quebec; Open from 07:30 – 21:30
    • Windsor Mail Processing Facility, 5255 Walker Road, Windsor, Ontario; Open from 09:00 – 17:00

IMPACT ON DELIVERY STANDARDS

For the purposes of planning delivery timeframes, note that November 11 is not considered a business day and is to be excluded when calculating expected delivery dates. For example, an Xpresspost TM item deposited on Tuesday November 10 with a two-day delivery standard will have an expected delivery date of Friday November 13. Mail deposited on November 11 will only be processed on the following business day and considered deposited on November 12.

If your business is open on Remembrance Day, we recommend that you shift your pick-up to a different day and, if required, make the necessary arrangements by contacting the Commercial Service Network. Also note that there will be no mail delivery on November 11 and post offices will be closed, with the exception of most dealer post offices in accordance with the host business hours of operation.
