  • Titanic 100th Anniversary Stamps: The Locations

    • Southampton (England), where the Titanic started her maiden voyage on April 10, 1912. Most of Titanic’s crew hailed from in and around the city.

    • Cape Race (Newfoundland, Canada), where a team working at the Canadian Marconi company’s wireless station heard Titanic’s early distress call. It came through late in the evening of April 14, 1912.

    • Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada), which became the centre of the rescue and recovery efforts after the tragic sinking on April 15, 1912. Halifax’s cemeteries became the final resting place approximately 150 victims.
