About Mail Forwarding
About Mail Forwarding (Change of Address)
Whether moving or temporarily relocating to a new home or office, Canada Post’s Mail Forwarding service allows you to rest easy knowing that you’re not missing important mail and that your personal information stays safe. The service forwards your mail from your old address to an alternate address anywhere in Canada or in the world, enabling you to focus on the task of moving/relocating and to take your time to update your address on file with people that need to know.
Here are the top three reasons why over one million
Canadians forward their mail each year:

Prevent your mail (cheques, tax correspondence, bills and financial statements) from being missed or returned to sender

Eliminate the risk of identity theft by guaranteeing that your mail won’t be delivered to the new occupant of an old address

Avoid having to ask neighbours or friends to pick-up your mail
Choose the right service to serve your needs:

for Moves
(not returning to original address)
- When moving to a new residence or place of business
- To manage an Estate and receive mail addressed to a deceased individual
- When changing P.O. Boxes

for Temporary
Relocation
(returning to original address)
- When temporarily reassigned to a new job in a new city
- When relocating south to escape harsh Canadian winters
- When staying at a cottage for summer months
- When managing mail on behalf of another individual
- When your business is temporarily closed or relocated due to renovations
TIP! Moving? Choose 12-month service for best value!
- Save more: Benefit of lower monthly cost.
- Eliminate risk: Covers mail received on annual or infrequent cycle such as financial statements and recall notices.
