Hold Mail and Temporary Redirection for schools

Public or private schools can have their mail held or temporarily redirected to another address for as many as 6 periods throughout the year.

Steps on how to order

To submit a change of address for a school, apply in person at a Post Office with:

  • 2 printed and completed copies of the school service form
  • Government-issued photo identification
  • A document that proves that you have the authority to act on behalf of the school/school board, and includes the following information:
    • Date the document was signed;
    • Name of school;
    • A statement from the grantor of authority (i.e. school principal) advising Canada Post of the name of the employee(s) authorized to act on the school's behalf;
    • Printed name and signature(s) of both grantor of authority and the individual purchasing the Hold Mail or Redirection service.
