Design larger navigation buttons
Smaller screens and touch display make it difficult for people to click on the right button or link. This can result in frustration and ultimately a lost sale. Try increasing the size of your buttons so that users can easily navigate your website, and get to the online checkout hassle-free.
Reformat your content for mobile
A mobile version of your website will require a separate and strategic setup that’s very different from the desktop version. Heavy text, multiple pages, and excessive data will overwhelm mobile site visitors and slow down your website. Most shoppers will abandon a page if they have to wait more than 6-10 seconds for it to load. Make sure your mobile website is working at optimal capacity by formatting it with simple designs and information.
Use more images, less text
When shopping on their smartphones, mobile users are less interested in text and more invested in images. What could be minimal text on a desktop could easily overpower a smartphone screen and deter your sale. Keep your mobile text to a minimum and focus on images and icons instead.

Create shorter pages
Make sure your pages are shorter for less scrolling time and easier checkout. Only include critical information that the user needs to see and fill out or they may be overwhelmed and navigate away from your site. Over 85 per cent of all online shopping carts are abandoned, and over 41 per cent of users have said they thought that the credit card entry was too difficult for them to use. Having an easy checkout process for mobile will help increase your sales.
Offer autofill whenever possible so users have less to type out when making a purchase. You can easily apply this at checkout – when users are typing in their address, and by automatically making “billing” and “shipping” the same information. Your platform may also be setup to scan a credit card and autocomplete the information for the customer. This helps save the user time and makes the checkout process a breeze.
If your e-commerce website isn’t currently mobile-friendly, make it a priority to adapt it for mobile devices this year. A disappointing user experience can cost your business sales and loyalty.
