    Larger letter mail

If the item you’re sending is heavier than the standard weight (0-50g), it’s considered non-standard/oversize and the postage rate will differ. You can use our online Find a rate tool to get postage rates for heavier letter mail. Note that the maximum weight for letters is 500g. Check out our size and weight limits for letters and documents sent in Canada and U.S. and International or read the full guide for more information.

If your letter is larger than the maximum dimensions for a non-standard/oversize item, you will need to use our parcel services.

    How to use old postage

Older stamps displaying money values can still be used on your mail. If you have enough to equal the current stamp price, use them as you would use the new, permanent stamps. If you need more to make up the difference in postage, you can get it at your post office.
