Parcels without borders

New international agreements help Canada Post provide its customers with faster global shipping service

As the demand for global shipping grows, finding ways to do it better and faster is becoming more important.

Postal operators around the world are increasingly looking to strike the kinds of partnerships that will help streamline shipping and logistics across borders. This fall, Canada Post is making a big step forward in this area, and just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

On October 24, 2016, Canada Post is extending the number of countries to which it offers Xpresspost International service. The expansion will add 19 additional countries, including Jamaica, Mexico and Thailand, to the current 53 destinations. Senders to these destinations will experience several improvements over the current International Parcel – Air service:

  • Faster service
  • On-time delivery guarantee
  • End-to end tracking and delivery confirmation
  • Signature

With Xpresspost International, Canadians have the opportunity to send their documents and parcels using the world’s fastest postal service, via our partner posts’ priority networks.

Among the new countries is the United Arab Emirates. A delegation from that country arrived in Ottawa on September 29 for talks aimed at strengthening ties between our two countries. One of the delegation members was Abdulla Mohmmed Al Ashram, CEO of the Emirates Post Group (pictured above at right). He met with Canada Post President and CEO Deepak Chopra at the UAE Embassy to sign a memorandum of understanding covering the exchange of Xpresspost International to and from Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
