CUPW gives notice of rotating strikes in Toronto & the GTA

While negotiations continue, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced further strike action. CUPW has given notice that it intends to hold rotating strikes in the Greater Toronto Area, (excluding Scarborough) and most of the 905-region beginning after 12:01 am on Tuesday, October 23.   Continue reading


CUPW gives notice of rotating strikes in Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax

While negotiations continue, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has decided to initiate strike action. CUPW has given notice that it intends to hold a rotating strike in Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax beginning after 12:01 am on Monday, October 22 (local time), and lasting 24 hours. In those areas, mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up.   Continue reading

I wish to sincerely thank Arbitrator Flynn for providing resolution to the pay equity issue with her thoughtful and detailed ruling. This is an incredibly important ruling for our rural and suburban carriers. Pay equity is a basic human right and therefore pay disparity on the basis of gender is wholly unacceptable for Canada Post.   Continue reading
