Canada Post continues to negotiate to reach an agreement

Posted on Oct. 19, 2018 by Canada Post in Customer Updates

Dear Customer,

Canada Post remains committed to negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, with the assistance of a mediator. We plan to continue the discussions throughout the weekend in order to reach an agreement.

If the union takes rotating strike action on Monday, the postal service will continue to operate across Canada – accepting and delivering mail and parcels in all other locations. Once any temporary strike action ends, we would return to normal operations in the affected locations.

Our Commitment
Canada Post values its relationship with CUPW and with Canadians. We continue to pursue a negotiated settlement while making every effort to minimize the impact of any disruption on the customers who rely on us.

Keeping you informed
We will continue to keep you informed of the latest developments on this page. If you have not done so already, please register there for regular updates by email. We will also post information about service disruptions resulting from rotating strikes on Twitter using the handle @canadapostcorp.

Thank you for your continued patience.
